There has been chatter about a Mad About You revival for over a year and now it's officially-official with a limited series being acquired by Spectrum Originals, reports Deadline. 

In the same vein as Will and Grace, original cast members Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt will return to reprise their roles from the 1990s. The sitcom will pick up 20 years later, with married couple Paul and Jamie Buchman (Reiser/Hunt) living as empty-nesters in NYC.

In the new series we'll see the couple navigate marriage, parenting and middle-aging.

Reiser and Hunt released a joint statement expressing their delight, saying, "We are so excited to finally be doing this and thrilled to have Peter Tolan as our fearless captain. We promise you the same funny and heartwarming show — as soon as we can remember what’s funny about being older. It’s going to be great!"

Rescue Me creator Tolan, who is mentioned above, will be acting as showrunner for the next installment of Mad About You. The series originally aired from 1992-1999.
