Michaela Coel was the big winner at Sunday's BAFTA TV Awards, taking home Best Miniseries and Best Actress for I May Destroy You.

Coel's searing 12-part drama about a London woman trying to rebuild her life after being raped was the only multiple winner on the night. Paul Mescal was named Best Actor for his performance in Normal People, triumphing over Small Axe's John Boyega and The Crown's Josh O'Connor.

Coel was named Best Actress ahead of a tough field including Killing Eve's Jodie Comer, Small Axe's Letitia Wright, and I Hate Suzie's Billie Piper.

Lennie James' Save Me Too won the prestigious Best Drama Series prize ahead of AMC's Gangs of London, The Crown and I Hate Suzie. Graham Norton was nominated for Best Entertainment Performance for his work on The Graham Norton Show, but lost out to Romesh Ranganathan for The Ranganation. Still, Norton can take solace in the fact he has won this award no fewer than six times in the past.

Other acting winners included Sex Education's Aimee Lou Wood and Small Axe's Malachi Kirby. You can check out a full list of winners at the BAFTA TV Awards here.

Comer attended the awards ceremony at West London's Television Centre in person and joked on the red carpet that she couldn't party too hard because the fourth and final season of Killing Eve was due to start shooting the very next day. "Don’t worry I’ve preordered my taxi, I’m not going to be hungover, I’m going to be sensible," she said, according to the Daily Express.
