The cast of Miranda, Little Britain's Matt Lucas and David Walliams, and Doctor Who favorites David Tennant and Catherine Tate have reunited for BBC charity sketches in aid of people especially affected by coronavirus.

The sketches aired in the U.K. on Thursday night as part of The Big Night In, a special three-hour broadcast jointly organized by two nonprofits, Comic Relief and Children in Need, and co-hosted by recent Doctor Who guest star Sir Lenny Henry.

Miranda Hart (Miranda), Tom Ellis (Gary), Sally Phillips (Tilly), Sarah Hadland (Stevie), and Patricia Hodge (Penny) reconnect over webcam in a sketch which features a group dance to Heart's '80s power ballad "Alone" and a rather risqué revelation from Penny.

It ends with a heartfelt message of encouragement from Miranda. "It's a strange time. Much like your nan's Christmas cake, there are going to be tough moments and parts that are hard to swallow, but we'll get through it," she advises.

"Remember it's okay if you're struggling, it's okay if you're bored. It's okay if you're okay, it's okay if you're not okay. Be kind to yourself, be kind to others, and remember, love wins. Take care."

Meanwhile, Little Britain's Walliams and Lucas revive a whole host of their popular characters for a bumper sketch featuring some very creative uses of household items. As you'll see, everyday spaghetti makes a surprisingly effective substitute for the wig Lucas normally usually while playing troublesome teenager Vicky Pollard.

Look out, too, for appearances from Lou and Andy, Marjorie Dawes, Bubbles DeVere, Sebastian Love, and Mr Mann, plus a couple familiar Little Britain guest stars.

In a coronavirus-themed sketch, Tate plays her hilariously argumentative character Lauren the schoolgirl opposite Tennant as her exasperated teacher. When Tennant's character insists he's not "asymptomatic," Tate's Lauren replies: "How do you know? Is your name Chris Whitty?," referring to the head of Public Health England.

She then asks a killer loaded question: "Are you or have you ever been a Doctor?"

According to the BBC, The Big Night In has so far raised £27.5m ($34m) for people especially affected by coronavirus. The U.K. government has promised to double the money raised by donating the same amount again to Comic Relief and Children in Need.
