Mood, BBC America's groundbreaking drama series about an aspiring musician drawn into the worlds of social media influencing and sex work, has been nominated for three BAFTA TV Awards.
The six-part series written by and starring Nicôle Lecky is nominated for the Mini-Series prize. Lecky also receives nominations in the Emerging Talent: Fiction and Original Music: Fiction categories – the latter jointly with her co-composers Bryan Senti and Kwame KZ Kwei-Armah Jr.
AMC's zeitgeist-grabbing medical dramedy This Is Going to Hurt is also shortlisted for the Mini-Series prize, one of six nominations it picks up including a Leading Actor nod for Ben Whishaw. Adam Kay, who adapted This Is Going to Hurt from his own bestselling memoir, is nominated in the Writer: Drama category.
Meanwhile, BBC America's The Graham Norton Show is nominated for the Comedy Entertainment Programme prize, an award it previously won in 2015.
Other acting nominees include Maxine Peake, who is nominated for Leading Actress for her harrowing performance as a grieving mother in Anne, a biographical miniseries available on Acorn TV. Fiona Shaw (for Andor), Sarah Lancashire (for Julia), Siobhán McSweeney (for Derry Girls), and Diane Morgan (for Cunk on Earth) pick up acting nominations as well.
The winners will be announced in a ceremony in London on May 14. In the meantime, the BBC has a full list of nominations here, and you can read our interview with Mood's executive producer Margery Bone here.
