New Trailer: Alia Shawkat Returns for Season Three of 'Search Party'

The ensemble series Search Party first aired in 2016, with the follow-up season premiering in 2017. We've been eager for the third season, which is now headed to HBO MAX, kicking off on June 25.

It's been quite a wait and now it's here all of a sudden, slightly out of the blue. But, we're not complaining.

If you're not familiar with the show, it stars Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development) as Dory. In season one, she's a little lost, not sure what to do with her life post-college. When a school acquaintance goes missing, Dory now has purpose. She finds herself as an amateur sleuth, becoming obsessed with finding out what happened to Chantal (Clare McNulty).

Dory is joined in the search by her group of friends, made up of John Reynolds as Drew, Meredith Hanger as Portia, and John Early as Elliot.

If you missed the first season or need a refresher, here's a look at the trailer:

Not to give anything away, but the second season sees the group deal with the aftermath of searching for Chantal and what they found:

And, here we are, the trailer for season three. Okay, this will give something away, so, if you don't want to see any spoilers, then please look away. Dory and Drew are now on trial for... murder. No, it wasn't Chantal, but someone else got mixed up in the mystery and attacked Dory, with Drew hitting him on the head with a blunt object in an attempt to save Dory.

Or, so we think (that it is was in defense), which is where the trial comes in:

Dory and friends seem to be enjoying their notoriety in the above. But, we'll give them the benefit of the doubt, that they will come to their senses and realize this is some serious sh*t.

The first two seasons aired on TBS, with the third moving to HBO Max.

Are you going to tune in to see the group's fate?
