Paul Hogan put himself and Australia on the map (okay, Australia was probably already pretty well-known) in 1986 when starring in the title role of the action-comedy Crocodile Dundee. And now we'll be seeing more of him in the forthcoming Mr. Dundee, which will get a digital release on December 11, reports ComingSoon.net. 
In the original, we see a reporter (Linda Kozlowski) travel to the Outback to shadow Michael "Crocodile" Dundee and how he goes about his business as a hunter. After some quality time together, she invites him back to NYC for a few days. Wrestling crocodiles in swamps is nothing compared to this concrete jungle.
We saw Hogan return to reprise the role in 1988's Crocodile Dundee II and 2001's Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles. In 2018, an Australian tourism video was released that got fans in a tizzy, because it was presented as a trailer for a forthcoming movie, starring Danny McBride as his unknown son.

While it wasn't a feature length film, possibly it did get the ball rolling, because now... we are getting the real thing. This time around, it's a little different. Hogan will play a fictionalized version of himself in the upcoming Mr. Dundee.
In the new trailer, we see him addressing a young fan, saying, "I'm not really Crocodile Dundee, you know? He's just a character I play in a movie."
What's that sound? Oh, our bubble bursting. Okay, we get it, he's not really a knife-wielding crime-stopper.
If we're not going to see him as Croc, then what is he up to?
In the new trailer, he's just as busy as his character, traveling to the U.K. to be knighted by the Queen, joining forces with fellow Aussie Olivia Newton-John for a fundraiser and... just trying to be a good dad and grandad:
