New Trailer: David Tennant and Michael Sheen are Returning for Second Season of 'Staged'
David Tennant and Michael Sheen have been using their downtime wisely, filming a series from home, with the help of the BBC, called Staged. The first season was received so well, that they are now working on a second, which we can look for on January 4.
If you need some catching up, Staged follows two actors who are out of work because of the pandemic. They rely on video conferencing to keep in touch with each other, trying to stay busy and positive.
In the trailer for the second season, it sounds like Sheen's character did get some work but has since been replaced.
Tennant asks him, "Has this ever happened to you before?" It has, but Sheen won't say who the actor is.
But, he does have a plan, which you can hear for yourself in this clip (it's quite eloquent):
Sheen is talking to Tennant, but it's almost as if he's giving a soliloquy, saying he's befriending the man who replaced him, making his way into his life, and is about to exact "slow and decisive" revenge.
Wait a minute, is he describing Tennant and telling him right to his face?
We kind of hope so, as that would be quite bold.
But, of course, we give Tennant more credit than that, that he'd pick up on it.
We shall have to see how this rolls out, premiering on January 4 via BBC One in the U.K. and Hulu in the U.S.
Are you up for more Staged?
