We just mentioned Guy Pearce making his return to the Australian soap Neighbours. And now here he is again, set to take on a new role, reports ComingSoon.net.
Pearce has completed filming on the forthcoming psychological thriller The Infernal Machine. Side note: anything with the word “infernal” in it sounds alarming.
He's set to portray a reclusive author, Bruce Cogburn, who is known for his controversial book The Infernal Machine, hence the title of the thriller. Cogburn is forced out of hiding by an obsessive fan who sends him endless letters.
We have a feeling there’s something in that book that the fan is not so keen on.
And, according to the trailer, our instincts are right:

We see Cogburn trace backward to try and figure out the source of the problem and ultimately put a stop to the harassing letters.
In addition to Pearce, you can look for Alice Eve, Jeremy Davies, and Alex Pettyfer.
The movie is based on Louis Kornfeld’s story The Hilly Earth Society, which you can find over at The Truth Podcast. Andrew Hunt turned it into a script and also directs.
The Infernal Machine is set to premiere later this year.
