Jason Statham is starring as a spy? Sounds about right to us.
He’s teaming up with Guy Ritchie, once again? That too sounds about right to us.
We can look for Statham in the forthcoming action-comedy Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre and a trailer for the feature has just been released.
In regards to the title, the first part – Operation Fortune – refers to super spy Orson Fortune’s (Statham) mission. The second part – Ruse de guerre -- which is French, loosely translates to “ruse of war.”
The keyword being “ruse,” which is the foundation of this story, with Josh Hartnett portraying a Hollywood movie star, Danny Francesco, who is recruited to help stop a billionaire arms broker from selling highly dangerous weapon technology.
It sounds like this billionaire is bored and using his money to tinker with “toys.”
And, who’s going to play said billionaire? Oh, the one and only Hugh Grant, of course.
According to the description, Francesco is reluctant and needs some persuading, which comes in the form of blackmail.
Franceso is the billionaire’s favorite movie star and he’s being used as bait:

Their plan is quite clever, in a very calculating and sinister way, even though they’re the good guys.
It’s not just the boys to tell this story, we can look for Aubrey Plaza on the good guy team, providing a voice of reason.
We can look for Operation Fortune on January 21.
There is A LOT going on in this story and we’re kind of loving it – what about you?
