Olivia Colman has been an Anglo regular for a while now. And, here we are again, more Colman.
It appears she has a “secret” project that we are only just stumbling across, as it hasn’t been wallpapered on the internet. And, we will say, we’re liking this find.
You can look for Colman in the forthcoming feature film entitled Joyride. Her character is named Joy, and as seen in the new trailer, she calls herself out, saying, “I know, false advertising,” as she’s a bit of a handful.
The story kicks off with Joy asleep in the back of a car, when a young fella hops in and takes the car for a ride, not realizing that she and a baby are in the backseat.
The boy, Mully (Charlie Reid), is running away from home. And Joy is running to somewhere, saying, “To visit someone, to give them something.” We have a feeling, that “something” is the baby.
But, as the two continue their travels, they each have a change of heart. It seems Joy can see herself in Mully’s eyes, and the vice-versa. Mully is helping Joy realize this baby does want her. And Joy is helping Mully stand up to his dad, who is a bully and a conman.
Joyride is set to premiere in the U.K. and Ireland on July 29. There’s no mention of a U.S. release date just yet, but fingers crossed it heads this way.
