We just did a write-up on Olivia Colman, highlighting 10 times she left us in awe. And, here she is, at it again…
She’s signed on for a new project, set to star in the forthcoming miniseries Landscapers, reports ComingSoon.net. The true crime drama tells the story of a married couple convicted of double homicide.
Colman is teaming up with her husband, Ed Sinclair, who created and wrote the four-part series based on extensive research and direct access to those accused — who still maintain their innocence.
Colman is set to star as Susan Edwards, with David Thewlis as her husband Chris. The two were accused of killing Susan’s parents in 1998, shooting them dead and then burying them in the back garden.

In the first look trailer, we see Susan and Edward when they first meet. Susan seems like a positive person and full of hope.
From there, things take a drastic turn:

According to The Guardian, it wasn’t until 2012 that there were suspicions, as Susan wrote forged letters from her parents, and paid the bills, making it look as if they were still alive. After selling her parents’ house, the two fled to France, but eventually turned themselves in, knowing their past had caught up with them.
Here’s the official description for the series: “Inspired by real events, the series tells a unique love story involving Chris and Susan Edwards, a seemingly ordinary British couple who become the focus of an extraordinary investigation when two dead bodies are discovered in the back garden of a house in Nottingham.”
You can look for Landscapers over at HBO on December 6.
We’ve never seen Olivia Colman in a role like this. What do you think so far?
