Rafe Spall currently stars in the comedy Trying, a series about a couple trying to adopt a baby. He has another role lined-up, revolving around starting a family, but not quite in the same way...

In the forthcoming feature Long Story Short, Spall takes on the role of a man in his thirties, who has a habit of waiting too long on things. He's a bit of procrastinator. He doesn't want life to pass him by, so he bites the bullet and gets married.

Except, the day after his wedding, a year has gone by. It doesn't just feel that way, time is literally jumping ahead.

In the new clip, his character discovers his wife (Zahra Newman) is 18 weeks pregnant, meanwhile he had no idea:

According to the description, every few minutes, a year goes by. That is a lot of years in one day.

It's hard enough to keep up with a regular day, we have no idea how he'll keep up with twenty-some years.

From the look of the first trailer, we have a feeling he doesn't know either.

Spall's character calls on his best friend (Ronny Chieng) for help in trying to figure out what caused this loop.

The real question is, how can he turn it off? We'll find out on July 2 when the movie releases via Video on Demand.

Do you feel like this might be a cautionary tale?
