If you love it when Peter Capaldi leans into his darker side, today brings great news: he's returning for two more seasons of the chilling thriller series The Devil's Hour.
According to Radio Times, he'll be joined by fellow returning cast members Jessica Raine, Nikesh Patel, Phil Dunster, Meera Syal and Benjamin Chivers.
Season one of the The Devil's Hour, which is executive produced by former Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat, debuted on Prime Video in October. It follows Raine's character Lucy, a social worker, as she tries to work out why she wakes up every morning at exactly 3:33am. This quest leads her to Capaldi's character Gideon, an enigmatic and extremely creepy criminal who believes he can predict the future.
Writer and creator Tom Moran said of the new seasons: "Telling a story on television is a precarious business. Season 1 of The Devil’s Hour was just the beginning: the opening act of a TV novel. I’m so thrilled that we get to keep turning those pages and slotting the puzzle pieces into place."
The new season of The Devil's Hour is due to start shooting in early 2023. The renewal caps a great few days for Capaldi, who received an Outstanding Contribution award at the Scottish BAFTAs on Sunday night (November 20). The BBC reports that he told the audience: "I think this is really an award for getting lucky, for being lucky enough to be born in Scotland."
