Phoebe Waller-Bridge Reveals How She Worked with Daniel Craig on New Bond Movie 'No Time to Die'
Ever since it was announced that Phoebe Waller-Bridge was contributing to the script of new Bond movie No Time to Die, the internet has been wondering exactly how she might shape its direction.
The Fleabag creator and Killing Eve executive producer has previously revealed that she made a few "spicy additions" to the franchise's 25th installment. Now she's spoken a little more on the writing process, revealing that Daniel Craig, who plays James Bond, was "really involved."
Describing her role as being to offer "dialogue polishes" and "different alternatives," Waller-Bridge told host Chris Evans on the U.K.'s Virgin Radio: "They did give me some scenes and then would be like, 'Can you write some alternatives for this or have another idea about where it could go in the middle or how it would end?' And then I would just give them options and various scenes and then they would take what they want. But there was a lot people writing – the director [Cary Fukunaga] was a writer on it as well. And there’d been a few writers before."
She went on to say that Craig was "really involved from the beginning," recalling that she and the actor had "so many great conversations" about the movie. "So it’s a big sort of melting pot of everybody’s ideas the whole time," she said of the scriptwriting process.
Come on, admit it, wouldn't you quite like to eavesdrop on a conversation between Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Daniel Craig?
We'll find out exactly how Waller-Bridge has influenced No Time to Die when it opens in U.S. theaters on April 8, 2020, five days after its U.K. release. Rami Malek is playing the main villain who’ll cause trouble for Daniel Craig’s Bond, while franchise faves Andrew Scott, Naomie Harris, and Ben Whishaw are all back for the new movie, too.
