Real-Life Couple Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green Starring in Family Film 'Dakota'

Married couple Megan Fox and BrianAustin Green have been on and off again for a while now, and it looks like they are currently "on." On so much that they've both signed up for the family drama Dakota, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

The film revolves around a recently widowed woman (Fox), whose husband was killed during the war in Afghanistan. She finds herself a single mom, raising their daughter, and left to manage their small-town farm and run the local volunteer fired department.

Prior to her husband's death, a fellow soldier (Green), promised if anything were to happen to him, he'd bring his combat dog home to his family. The soldier shows up unexpectedly with dog in tow.

The script is written by John Harrington (A Sierra Nevada Gunfight) and will be directed by Kirk Harris (Bernie the Dolphin).

Fox has starred in blockbuster franchises like Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. She's also turned to more niche-y films, taking on the title role in 2009's zombie-comedy Jennifer's Body. Green is probably best known for his role as David Silver in the original 90210 TV series. More recently we've seen him in Anger Management (2012-2014) and an episode of the new Magnum P.I., airing earlier this month.

Do you think real-life couples starring together adds to the chemistry? Or... is it more gimmicky?
