Sci-fi is one of our go-to-genres. And now Steve Carell’s Space Force is getting a second season, set to premiere on February 18 over at Netflix, reports Deadline.
This isn't just sci-fi but also a workplace comedy, revolving around a newly created military sector, with its mission statement reading: “The goal of the new branch is 'to defend satellites from attack' and 'perform other space-related tasks.'... or something."
That “or something” dangling at the end of the description has us hooked.
The first season premiered in 2020, created and co-written by Carell and his The Office co-creator Greg Daniels. The two are collaborating once again for the follow-up season.
In addition to creating and writing, Carell also stars as Captain Naird, whose dreams of running the Air Force are dashed when he's assigned to a newly assembled group.
We can look for seven new episodes, and the second season kicking off with the Space Force team now reporting to a new administration.
It sounds like they have some new goals, including earning their new bosses’ approval and still learning how to work together.
The trailer for season two has yet to be released, so let’s time travel back to season one:
In addition to Carell, we can look for the return of John Malkovich and Ben Schwartz.
