'The Mandalorian' Series Dedicates Season Two Finale to Late Actor Jeremy Bulloch
The Star Wars saga continues with Disney's The Mandalorian, which kicked off in 2019, followed by a second season in 2020. Both are available for streaming via Disney+.
The story follows a bounty hunter (Pedro Pascal), who is in search of others like him. Along the way, he comes across a mysterious creature, unofficially called Baby Yoda, who he takes into his care.
Jeremy Bulloch, who played bounty hunter Boba Fett in 1980's The Empire Strikes Back and 1983's Return of the Jedi, recently passed away at the age of 75.
As a way to show tribute to him, the makers of The Mandalorian have dedicated season two to Bulloch, with a message appearing at the end of the finale in the credits, saying, "In memory of Jeremy Bulloch."
At first glance, The Mandalorian appears to be a prequel series, but this Vulture write-up helps confirm the timeline, saying, "The Mandalorian is set after Return of the Jedi and before The Force Awakens." It's a bit confusing, with Baby Yoda being a baby and all.
It's not really a spoiler, but just in case, spoiler alert... Baby Yoda isn't the Yoda. He was born when Yoda was already full-grown.
So, in other words, Boba Fett did come before Pascal's Mando. As well, Fett shows up in later episodes of The Mandalorian, with Temuera Morrison taking on the role. We can also look for Morrison as Fett in the 2021 spinoff series The Book of Boba Fett.
If you missed it the first time around, or it's been a minute, here's a look at Bulloch as Boba Fett:
Quoting the Mandalorian creed, "This is the way." Are you happy to see credit given where due?
