The forthcoming adaptation of Dune has been in the works for a while, with a teaser trailer released this past September. We can now indulge in a feature trailer and it is topped-up with a number of familiar faces.

Timothée Chalamet takes on the lead role as Paul Atreides. He stars opposite Zendaya as a woman named Chani. Chani keeps popping up in his dreams, telling him about the beauty of her planet Arrakis and that it's under attack.

Paul confides in his friend, Duncan Idaho (Jason Momoa), who says to him, "Dreams make good stories, but everything happens when we're awake."

But, are they just stories? Or, is Chani able to tap into his subconscious?

The new trailer helps fill in the blanks:

It seems that Paul is being called on as a protector; not just for the mystery woman's planet, but for his own, the people on it, and ultimately, his family.

You can also look for Stellan Skarsgård, Rebecca FergusonJavier Bardem, Josh Brolin and Oscar Isaac, reports Empire.

Of course, this isn't the first time we're seeing an adaptation of Frank Herbert‘s 1965 sci-fi fantasy novel up on the big screen. David Lynch (Twin Peaks) brought the story to life in 1984.

If you haven’t seen the original, or you'd like a refresher, here’s a look at the trailer:

Dune, directed by Denis Villeneuve, will release on October 22.

Is Timothée Chalamet going to be able to rise to the occasion (as Paul)?
