The multi-talented Tom Hardy can add another string to his bow after the weekend: martial arts champion.
The Guardian reports that Hardy entered and won the 2022 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Open Championship in Milton Keynes, England on Saturday (September 17). In order to keep his appearance relatively low-key, he entered under his birth name, Edward Hardy (Thomas is actually the actor's middle name).
Hardy won all of his matches on the day and also made a great impression on a personal level. A spokesperson for the event described him as a "really nice guy" who was a "real pleasure" to have at the event.
This isn't Hardy's first taste of martial arts glory. The Guardian reports that he also won the REORG Open Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Wolverhampton, England last month. And you may remember that he played a mixed martial arts fighter in the 2011 movie Warrior, which may well be where his passion for the sport stems from.

Hardy isn't the only British acting favorite to have enjoyed success in the ring. In 2016, Idris Elba won a professional kickboxing bout after mastering the sport for a documentary series. According to CBS Sports, Elba was cheered on at his pro debut by none other than Madonna
