Eddie Redmayne is back as wizard Newt Scamander for the third installment of the Fantastic Beasts franchise, subtitled The Secrets of Dumbledore.
It’s not just Redmayne, we can look for Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore and Mads Mikkelsen stepping in as Gellert Grindewald.
This is the follow-up to 2018’s The Crimes of Grindewald and it seems the villainous wizard is still up to no good. Even so, Dumbledore is onto him.
It’s believed, Grindewald plans to take over the wizarding world, with Dumbledore recruiting Scamander to stop him. He doesn’t go it alone, leading a team of “wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker,” according to the synopsis.
Said Muggle baker is played by original cast member Dan Fogler, who takes on the role of Jacob Kowalski.
The first look trailer just released today (December 13) and it is a doozy, brimming over with magic:

There is a lot going on in this story, but one of the highlights of the clip is Kowalksi being awarded a… wand.
He reacts in a very Muggle way, saying, “Are you kidding me, right now?”
No, no Jacob, no one is kidding you.
Now that everyone is equipped to go into battle, who is going to come out on top?
We shall see on April 15, 2022, when Fantastic Beasts 3 premieres.
