In 2008, a draft of Stephenie Meyer's Midnight Sun was leaked online. Now more than ten years later, Meyer has confirmed she has in fact finished the book and readers can look for it this coming August, reports NPR. 

It's the fifth installment of the Twilight series. It will go back to the original story of vampire Edward Cullen who falls in love with a modern-day teenage girl Bella Swan. This time around, the story is told from Cullen's perspective.

With him being a vampire, he's quite older than his new love interest. He was born in 1901, but frozen in his 17-year-old form.

Meyer released a pre-recorded statement via Good Morning America, saying, "I am very excited to finally, finally announce the release of Midnight Sun on August 4. It’s a crazy time right now and I wasn’t sure it was the right time to put this book out, but some of you have been waiting for just so so long it didn’t seem right to make you wait any more."

The first four books were narrated by Swan, which we saw adapted for the big screen. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart took the leads, starring in 2008's Twilight, 2009's New Moon, 2010's Eclipse, 2011's Breaking Dawn: Part 1 and 2012's Breaking Dawn: Part 2.

In the past, Pattinson has expressed disdain for the franchise, saying things like, "I would mindlessly hate it," if he were to watch the Twilight series on his own. But, he's since changed his tune, explaining, "I think when anything becomes a massive phenomenon, there's always people who get annoyed because it's just everywhere," reports USA Today.  

Either way, in the new book, Cullen is still 17. And, Pattinson...is not. He's now 33. Of course, there's CGI and ways to make people appear younger on-screen, but we have a feeling that if Midnight Sun is made into a movie, there will be some recasting.
