A decade ago, author and producer Stephenie Meyer's vampire series Twilight was adapted for the big screen, making Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart household names. Is she about to do it again with her new TV project? Possibly.

It was recently announced (April 23) that Paula Patton has been cast as a villain in a pilot called The Rook — a supernatural espionage thriller set for Starz. You may have watched Patton in the 2017 sci-fi series Somewhere Between, or remember her from 2011's Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.

Patton is excited about landing the new role and revealed she's on her way to London to start filming The Rook, reports ComingSoon.net.

Meyer will act as executive producer on the pilot, which is based on Daniel O'Malley's 2012 novel by the same name.

The story kicks off with a young woman waking up in a London park, not knowing who she is. And, to add to her confusion, she's surround by dead bodies, all wearing latex gloves. She has no memory at all, but what she does have is... a letter — addressed to her and written by her former self — which reads: "The body you are wearing used to be mine."

It's not clear if the line from the letter is meant to be taken figuratively or literally. Is she describing her memory loss or is there actual body swapping going on? We'll have to wait and see.

What we do know is, the young woman is on a mission to resume her position as the head of Britain's secret supernatural service. As she figures out the answers as to what happened to her, so shall we.

The Night Manager's Stephen Garrett will act as showrunner executive producer. Sam Holcroft (Rules for Living) and Al Muriel (Precious & Rich) will co-write the screenplay.
