WATCH: BBC Weatherman Has an On-Air Jam Session to News Theme Music

BBC North West weatherman Owain Wyn Evans takes his job very seriously. He not only presented the weather forecast, but then hopped on his drum set to jam out to the theme music in a recent news item.

He cheekily says in his Twitter update, "I didn't realise they'd expect me to do the music too."

We have a feeling this isn't technically a part of his job description, but more voluntary. Either way, we dig it.

Evans has been presenting the news from his garden. And when talking about working from home, he said in a statement, "We are all trying to find ways of keeping our spirits up during this difficult time of lockdown, and it is great that this has proved such a hit."

Turning to his drum set just seemed natural, with Evans going on to say, “It started out as a fun idea and has really caught on. The tune itself is obviously a bit of a banger anyway, and I knew it would sound brilliant on the drums!"

BBC North West News airs on BBC One in the U.K. on weekday nights and in regular intervals on the weekend. You can also catch-up with Evans over on social media, where he shares some of his newscasts.

Well, he's just a breath of fresh air. <—weather pun not intended, but we like it.
