Benedict Cumberbatch is set to return as the surgeon-turned-superhero Doctor Strange for the forthcoming installment of the Marvel movie, set to premiere on May 6.
The sequel, entitled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, sees Strange struggle with his past. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, he opened a multiverse, which released a number of villains.
We’ve already had a first look at the trailer, which reveals his troubling thoughts. In the new clip, he expands on a recurring dream.
It’s not clear if he is in a dream state or if this is his new reality:
We also see the return of Rachel McAdams, who portrays Dr. Christine Palmer in the original movie. She appears in a dream walking down the aisle dressed in white. We then see her a second time in a lab that's in a state of pure chaos.
It’s very common for a person to have a dream that's so real it’s hard to determine if it happened in reality or not. Our guess is that this is a mix of both.
Per usual, we’ll have to wait to see the movie in its entirety to find out. Which, we are so looking forward to. In addition to Cumberbatch and McAdams, you can also look for Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Mordo.
