When the BBC's adaptation of Agatha Christie's novel Ordeal by Innocence was first announced, there was no word on when the three-part series would air in the U.S. Well, that's all changed, because now it's set to premiere August 10 on Amazon Prime.

Not only did we get an airdate but the first look trailer also dropped. You know we love a two-for-one deal!

We get a glimpse of the all-star cast, made up of Bill Nighy (Dad's Army), Anna Chancellor (The Hour), Anthony Boyle (Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams), Matthew Goode (Downton Abbey) and Luke Treadaway (Attack the Block).

If you're not familiar with the story, it's a doozy. Ordeal by Innocence is set in 1954 Scotland (it was based in England in the book, but the location has shifted for the miniseries), at Christmas time. When the Argyll family's matriarch, wealthy philanthropist Rachel (Chancellor), is found murdered, it's believed her adopted son Jack (Boyle) is guilty, and he's carted off to prison.

But 18 months after Jack is arrested, a man named Dr. Calgary (Treadaway) shows up claiming he's Jack's alibi. Calgary would have come forward sooner, but he was on a scientific expedition in the Arctic.

Presuming this is all true, then Jack's in the clear. But that means there is still a murderer out there, possibly amongst the Argyll clan.

But, to backtrack, the first look trailer begins with the Argylls posing for a family portrait at their estate Sunny Point. Jack is hugging his mother and we hear him say in a voiceover, "Smile, mother. So everyone knows we're happy."

Ordeal by Innocence premiered in the U.K. on April 1. The three-parter airs in the U.S. via Amazon Prime from August 10.
