WATCH: Duchess of Cambridge Reads Bedtime Story for BBC Preschool Channel

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, is to read a bedtime story on the BBC's preschool channel CBeebies this Sunday (February 13).
The British royal family member will read The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark on CBeebies Bedtime Stories to mark Children's Mental Health Week. Written by Jill Tomlinson and first published in 1968, it's an inspiring book about a timid young barn owl who gradually overcomes his fear of the nighttime.
"Wow, what an encouraging tale," the Duchess says in a just-released preview clip. "We can all feel scared sometimes, just like our little owl friend Plop, but as Mrs. Barn Owl said, it's better to find out about the things that scare us before we make up our mind — and with the help of others, we can often face things that worry us."
"Now, it's time for bed," she adds. "Night night and sleep tight."

The Duchess of Cambridge follows in the footsteps of Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Tom Hardy, Regé-Jean Page, and Dave Grohl, all of whom have previously guested on CBeebies Bedtime Stories.
Patricia Hidalgo, Director of BBC Children’s and Education, said in a statement: “I couldn’t be more proud to have The Duchess read a CBeebies Bedtime Story as we mark the 20th anniversary of our CBeebies and CBBC channels. It’s such a special and relevant tale and perfectly represents this years’ Children’s Mental Health Week theme. I can’t wait to see her deliver her own take on such a classic story and I’m sure our audience can’t either."
The Duchess's episode of CBeebies Bedtime Stories will debut in the U.K. Sunday (February 13). Look out for further clips being shared online.
