Ewan McGregor and Ethan Hawke star as siblings in the forthcoming feature film Raymond and Ray. You may have noticed, the brothers have the same name-ish. They share the same father, but have different mothers, making them half-brothers (technically).
When their father passes away, he has a request for his boys, that they dig his grave. When hearing this, Raymond’s initial response is, “What?” After having some time to process the information, he (McGregor) says to his brother (Hawke), “The old man was always screwing with us.”
It’s not just Raymond and Ray, they learn they have a little brother, Simon, who is about ten years old. Their father had a lover they didn’t know about, until… now. While they’re not necessarily amped to go to the graveyard, they respect their father’s wishes, and dig the grave.
And from the look of the trailer, it seems like it might be healing:
Raymond and Ray looks kind of sad, kind of sweet, kind of… real. We look forward to seeing the entirety of the film when it releases over at Apple TV on October 21.
We’re liking the look of this. What about you!?
