It's finally here: the first trailer for the fifth Indiana Jones movie, which now has an official title: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
The trailer features plenty of the thrilling action sequences the franchise is known for, as well as a few surprises. We don't just see Harrison Ford as he looks today, but also a younger, digitally de-aged version of the iconic actor. Meanwhile, we also get plenty of glimpses of Phoebe Waller-Bridge's character, Helena, who seems to be well and truly in the thick of it. At one point, we see her literally clinging for dear life to a moving vehicle.
Toward the end, we also see her flexing the comedic muscles that helped to make her performance in Fleabag so special.
We learned just last month that Waller-Bridge's character is actually Indiana Jones' goddaughter. Director James Mangold described her as "slippery, charming, the girl next door, a grifter," which makes us confident she'll be more than a match for her godfather.
The movie's terrific cast also includes Mads Mikkelsen, Toby Jones, John Rhys-Davies, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Antonio Banderas, and Boyd Holbrook. Franchise creator George Lucas and longtime director Steven Spielberg both serve as executive producers. It's due in theaters June 30, 2023, so we have just under seven months to wait.
Are you excited to watch Harrison Ford and Phoebe Waller-Bridge in the new Indiana Jones movie?
