If you like the idea of Idris Elba in Western mode, the just-released trailer for The Harder They Fall will be right up your street.
It gives us a glimpse of Elba's character Rufus Buck, who becomes a moving target after being released from prison. When his sworn enemy Nat Love, played by Lovecraft Country's Jonathan Majors, learns that Buck is a free man again, he becomes hellbent on exacting revenge for past wrongs.
The movie's cast also includes Regina King – who plays "Treacherous" Trudy Smith, an ally of Elba's character – as well as Delroy Lindo, Lakeith Stanfield, and Zazie Beetz.
Directed and co-written by British musician-turned-filmmaker Jeymes Samuel, The Harder They Fall is due to premiere on Netflix at some point in 2021. You can check out the trailer below, but be aware that it's a pretty bloody affair at times.
You can also look out for Idris Elba in The Suicide Squad, a superhero movie co-starring Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, and Peter Capaldi that premieres in theaters and on HBO Max simultaneously on August 6. He plays a new character called Bloodsport, a mercenary with a technologically advanced suit.
