The first trailer has arrived for Men, an ambiguous-looking indie horror film starring Jessie Buckley and Rory Kinnear.
Buckley plays Harper, a woman who books a solo vacation at a beautiful country house following a tragic accident. Kinnear co-stars as the owner of the house, but also plays several other men who live in the local village, including a priest who isn't very sympathetic toward Harper when she reveals that her husband took his own life.
The situation seems to become progressively stranger as the trailer goes on, and we also get a glimpse of Harper's late husband, who is played by I May Destroy You actor Paapa Essiedu.
Men is the third movie directed by Alex Garland following 2014's Ex Machina and 2018's Annihilation. Before that, he wrote the screenplays for 2007's Sunshine and 2010's Never Let Me Go, as well as the hugely popular 1996 novel The Beach, which was turned into a movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
Men is due in theaters May 20. In the meantime, we can catch Buckley at Sunday's Academy Awards, where she's up for Best Supporting Actress along with some other Anglo favorites.
