Luke Evans has been an Anglo regular for a while now, starring in 2011's The Musketeers, 2013's The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug and 2016's The Girl on the Train. This time around, we can look for him in the limited series The Pembrokeshire Murders, which is based on real life events.

Evans takes on the role of actual Welsh detective Steve Wilkins, who played a huge role in capturing serial killer John Cooper (Keith Allen), known as "The Bullseye Killer."

In the first look trailer, Wilkins is convinced Cooper is guilty of four murders from years prior. The investigation is being re-opened, with Wilkins saying, "A man like him? They always kill again."

That is truly alarming and why Wilkins races to collect evidence, which you can check out in the below clip:

Wilkins worked closely with journalist Jonathan Hill in tracking Cooper's moves, and they documented their efforts in the non-fiction book Catching the Bullseye Killer. The title might be a little spoiler-y, in that we know he was in fact captured, but... we don't know actually how they went about it.

We do know that Cooper's nickname is based on his appearing on a darts-based game show, which helped identify him, reports Radio Times. It will be interesting to see how Wilkins and Hill's efforts successfully caught a killer.

The three-part series is set to air on ITV in the U.K. this coming January. A U.S. release date has yet to be announced.
