Mary Poppins Returns may not come out until December 19, but it's already receiving critical acclaim, including new Golden Globes nominations this morning for stars Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda's acting, composer Marc Shaiman's original score, and the film itself in the Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy category.

Before all of this morning's Golden Globes excitement (Did we mention Killing Eve AND Sandra Oh were nominated?!) Anglophenia's Sharon Carpenter caught up with the film's cast at its world premiere in Los Angeles just last week. And we issued them a challenge: Cockney slang. For those unfamiliar with the original film, Dick Van Dyke played Bert, a chimney sweep with a Cockney accent some have described as... over the top. In the new iteration, Lin-Manuel takes on the accent as Jack, a street lamplighter. And while we'll hold judgment on his full Cockney accent until the film is released, we challenged members of the cast to a little game of "What on Earth could this Cockney slang phrase mean?!" And before you judge them, how many could you get right?
