WATCH: Matt Smith is Charles Manson in 'Charlie Says' Trailer

We've already seen a short clip of Matt Smith as Charles Manson in upcoming biographical film Charlie Says. Now, we can watch him transform into the notorious cult leader in the first full trailer.

In the two-and-half minute teaser, a long-haired and heavily bearded Smith is on suitably chilling form as he strums a guitar, blows smoke ominously, and leads a procession of followers in the style of the Pied Piper. Check it out below.

Smith's Charles Manson appears in flashback sequences in the upcoming film from American Psycho director Mary Harron, which hones in on three women who killed for the cult leader: Leslie Van Houten (played by Game of Thrones' Hannah Murray), Patricia Krenwinkel (Here and Now's Sosie Bacon), and Susan Atkins (Imposters'sMarianne Rendón)

The film's official synopsis teases: "Confined to an isolated cellblock in a California penitentiary, the trio seem destined to live out the rest of their lives under the delusion that their crimes were part of a cosmic plan — until empathetic graduate student Karlene Faith (Merritt Wever) is enlisted to rehabilitate them. Convinced the prisoners are not the inhuman monsters the world believes them to be, Karlene begins the arduous process of breaking down the psychological barriers erected by Manson. But are the women ready to confront the horror of what they did?"

Smith's portrayal of Manson is already giving people on Twitter a lot of thoughts.
