WATCH: Mike Myers and 'Austin Powers' Cast Reunite for Nostalgic Super Bowl Ad
It's been 20 years since the last Austin Powers movie, but Mike Myers has just reunited with three of the gang for a Super Bowl TV spot.
Myers reprises his role as Austin Powers' nemesis Dr. Evil in the 60-second General Motors commercial, joined by fellow franchise regulars Rob Lowe (Number Two), Seth Green (Scott Evil), and Mindy Sterling (Frau Farbissina).
In the advert, Dr. Evil's behavior is only semi-evil because he's persuaded to save the world – with GM's electric vehicles, naturally – before taking it over in his customary fashion. Some things never change, though, especially when it comes to Dr. Evil taunting his son and Frau Farbissina unleashing her terrifying bark.
Noting that the Austin Powers gang have often been asked to reprise their iconic roles, Green told Variety: "The only thing I know is that Mike took a very first-hand, personal interest in shaping the script, so that it not only accurately represented the characters in the narrative, but also sold the product in way that the company was happy with."
The third and most recent Austin Powers movie, Austin Powers in Goldmember, came out in July of 2002. Franchise favorite Verne Troyer, who portrayed Mini-Me, sadly passed away in 2018.
