WATCH: Molly Windsor Stars in New Trailer for Murder Mystery Series 'Traces'

Molly Windsor (Three Girls) is set to star in the BritBox original series Traces, set to premiere tomorrow (January 5).

Windsor may be a new face on Anglophenia, but we surely know BritBox, with the streaming service being a sister company.

She is set to take on the role of Emma Hedges, a recent university graduate. With her studies focused on chemistry, Hedges has landed a job at The Scottish Institute of Forensic Science and Anatomy. While working, she continues her education, enrolling in an online course that incorporates a case study of a woman's remains found on Dundee Law, a site that marks a volcanic plug.

The case strikes a cord with Hedges, as her mother was killed and disposed of in a similar manner, 18 years prior.

While an entry-level employee and part-time student, she gets caught up in an active police investigation:

The folks over at ComingSoon.net have an exclusive clip for the series, which you can find here.

In the clip, we see Hedges meet a man named Daniel, played by Line of Duty's Martin Compston. It appears she left her purse behind after a night out, and he helps her collect it.

In an interview with RadioTimes, Compston describes his character, saying, "The thing with Daniel is, he just seems like a nice guy in a bad situation, and things are getting out of control for him."

Daniel works in construction, and after this chance meeting, they strike up a relationship. Compston says that Daniel and Emma are “both just a bit lost, and looking for something," then continuing, "so they do fall pretty hard, pretty fast.”

Compston is spilling all the tea on their romantic entanglement.

But, this isn't a romantic comedy, it's a crime thriller, with Compston circling back to the main focus, saying, "Her determination to find out what happened to her mother, that’s her priority. And anybody who stands in the way of that, she’s going to bulldoze!"
