There has been a lot of chatter about the biopic series The Crown swapping out the original cast for more age-appropriate actors to carry on the story, with Olivia Colman and Tobias Menzies replacing Claire Foy and Matt Smith as Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip.

The first trailer for season three, which confirms the premiere date as November 17, actually addresses the changeup.

Not necessarily about the actors themselves, but the clip includes Queen Elizabeth II talking about aging. She's had a portrait created, and an advisor says to her, "Everyone is delighted with the new profile ma'am, which they feel to be an elegant transition of Her Majesty from young woman to..."

He didn't quite finish the sentence, with Queen Elizabeth II suggesting, "Old bat??"

She has quite the sense of humor, which you can check out in the just released trailer (September 20):

Apparently no one is immune to the aging process. The Queen goes on to say, "A great many changes. Nothing one can do about it. One just has to get on with it," as she stares at the profile of herself as a young woman, seeing her forty-something reflection looking back.

And, she is correct, she has bigger things to focus on... like leading a nation.

The third and fourth series will span the years 1964-76. We can also look for Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, Ben Daniels as Lord Snowdon and Josh O'Connor as Prince Charles.
