We know Sarah Lancashire as her tough as nails character Sergeant Catherine Wood in Happy Valley (2014-2016), with the third and final season headed to AMC+ later this year. We can also look for her in a softer role as Julia Child in the forthcoming HBO Max series, simply called Julia, reports Deadline.
We say “softer” when comparing the two characters, but Child is known to have stood her ground when being treated dismissively. She was no shrinking violet. The eight-part series focuses on the challenges she faced getting her cooking show made.
In the recently released trailer, we see the iconic chef and almost forget it's an actress and not the woman herself:

As heard in the above clip, Child refused to take “no” for an answer. She was getting push back about her idea being “flimsy,” and her not being “camera friendly.” In spite of others’ doubts, she continued to fight the good fight.
The official description elaborates on what to expect: Julia is inspired by Julia Child’s extraordinary life and her long-running television series, The French Chef, which pioneered the modern cooking show. Through Julia’s life and her singular joie de vivre, the series explores a pivotal time in American history – the emergence of public television as a new social institution, feminism and the women’s movement, the nature of celebrity and America’s cultural evolution. At its heart, the series is a portrait of a loving marriage with a shifting power dynamic.”
You may have seen The French Chef in real time or in rerun, but if it’s new to you, here’s a peek:

And now, we’ll be getting a series about the making of the groundbreaking show, which premieres on March 31.
