WATCH: 'Silence of the Lambs' TV Series Spinoff 'Clarice' Gets New Trailer
We saw Thomas Harris' 1988 novel Silence of the Lambs made into a movie in 1991, starring Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster. There's a new TV series coming out, called Clarice, which picks up six months following the events of the original story.
As the title suggests, the story revolves around FBI Agent Clarice Starling, portrayed by Rebecca Breeds (Pretty Little Liars). We meet Clarice as she re-enters the field, after taking a break from FBI-ing. The series is a deep dive into her personal life, which helps us understand how she became the force she is.
The first look trailer is brief, but even so, very haunting:
If you've seen the movie, then you may pick up on themes that have carried on into the series, like the fluttering moth wings, a shirtless man sitting at a sewing machine and Clarice at a crime scene in her FBI jacket.
We hear a voiceover asking, "What do you with all of your rage... Clarice?" It seems like she puts it into her work.
In addition to Breeds, you can look for Kal Penn (Designated Survivor), Michael Cudlitz (The Walking Dead) and Nick Sandow (Orange Is the New Black).
Clarice is set to premiere on February 11 over at CBS.
