Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch premiered the end of last year, starring an ensemble cast including Frances McDormand, Timothée Chalamet and Tilda Swinton, just to name a few.
And now he’s at it again, recruiting an all-star cast for his next project, Henry Sugar, reports Deadline.
Author Roald Dahl’s short story The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar is being made into a movie, with Anderson set to direct. Well, that just sounds wonderful.
We can look for Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role, joined by Ralph Fiennes, Ben Kingsley and Dev Patel.
And, what is Mr. Sugar like? He is described as a wealthy man with a penchant for gambling. When he comes across a report describing a medical mystery — where a man is able to teach himself to see through opaque objects — he decides to train himself, using the same methods as the mysterious man.
Upon success, Mr. Sugar takes his ability to the casino, where he can see through playing cards.
There is a turning point for him, though, as he won this money in a dishonest manner, and decides to put it to good use.
This isn’t the first time Anderson has turned his attention to a Dahl story, adapting his Fantastic Mr. Fox into a feature film in 2009:
Other than Mr. Sugar, there’s no word on who’s playing who, just yet.
Are you up for another Wes Anderson/Roald Dahl combination?
